WILLIAM COUNCIL, AKA BILLY: THE NEGOTIATOR & CLOSER:
Born and raised in Harlem (129th Street & 7th Avenue) William Council, known by most as Billy, developed a childhood friendship with fellow Big Cuzin Ent. Co-founder Raymond Reid. When the duo began throwing parties as managing partners of Final Four Entertainment, a then 19 year-old Council was the youngest member of the trail blazing group of promoters.
Throughout the partnership with FFE (1995-2007), Council handled much of the company’s venue bookings and contractual matters. Since departing from FFE Council and Big Cuzin Ent partners Raymond Reid and Eric Frazier have continued to promote parties independently, in which he assumes much of the same business responsibilities.
A long time advocate of community charity and a basketball aficionado alike, Council currently coaches All Hallow High School’s basketball team. With a season ending record of 26-1, Council led his team to become the N.Y.C. 2007 freshman champions. Additionally, Council is the director of a basketball program at the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx, New York.
Since 1999 Council has acted as the Deputy Director of Contract Reporting for a national non-profit residential substance abuse treatment facility. From 1997 to 1999 Council was employed as a computer consultant for a thriving Wall Street firm.
In 1997 he also became the manager of a highly talented rapper, Nutta Butta, formerly signed to music guru Teddy Riley’s label Funky Mama/Little Man Records. After two years, Council and Nutta Butta parted ways on good terms. Nutta Butta, whose career was nearly reaching its peak, decided to discontinue his music career, opting to fully focus on religion instead. However, the two still remain good friends.
From 1998 to 2001, Council worked as a youth mentor within another non-profit organization called the Children’s Aid Society. A once aspiring attorney who developed a fascination with the law, along with a desire to assist with the lack of proper representation for minorities within the judicial system, Council attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice (N.Y.C.). At John Jay he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Council’s seasoned knowledge of the entertainment industry, non-profit sector, and corporate America combined are valuable factors in the BCE brand achieving its goal of becoming an entertainment powerhouse and an unprecedented global community-based resource.
